German Pool Supports Yan Oi Tong's Battle of the Little Chefs

Since 1977, Yan Oi Tong has been operating as a not-for-profit charitable organization in Hong Kong. Yan Oi Tong's steadfast service in social welfare, education, healthcare and leisure are provided by over 70 service units. German Pool takes pride in our corporate social responsibility, and we agree with Yan Oi Tong's motto: "Help the elderly and assist the young; flourish the schools and nurture the talents; support the sick and safeguard the healthy; care about the society and look after the neighbours". For this, German Pool fully backed Yan Oi Tong's Battle of the Little Chefs in raising money for Yan Oi Tong's Elderly Fund.

This year's "Battle of the Little Chefs" was themed around "Love", and young chefs had to create dishes with that theme in mind. This year, German Pool offered its brand new Culinary Experience Centre as a training ground for the battle, where professional chefs has taught these budding chefs the basic cooking skills. This event has prepared the little ones for their big battle of a culinary showdown on August 24th, 2014.

Yan Oi Tong's Vice Chairperson Mr. Lin Cheuk-fung and officiating guest Dr. Ko Wing-man kicked off the Battle of the Little Chefs with inspiring speeches. All the participants have pulled out all the stops to razzle dazzle. The participants used the German Pool Automatic Dough and Noodle Maker, the Professional High-Speed Food Processor and the Halogen Cooking Pot – aka the Portable Oven – to create delicious and "loving" dishes to impress.

At the banquet, a charity auction took place where philanthropists made bids for their favourite dishes. Proceeds from this auction benefit the Yan Oi Tong's Elderly fund. This auction also served to inspire the children in their future charitable actions. Looking forward, German Pool will continue its charitable spirits to give back to the community.
