German Pool wins 2nd Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award

For the past thirty years, German Pool has always been conscious of its responsibilities as a corporation towards the customers, the staff, the society and the environment. Its efforts were recognized at the 2nd Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award Ceremony held at the Hotel ICON on 23 January 2013, when the electrical appliances maker received the Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award for the second time in two consecutive years.

A group of prominent social and industry leaders, including Mr. Leung Chun Ying, Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, attended the award presentation ceremony. German Pool\'s founder and Managing Director, Dr. Edward Kwok Man Chan was on hand to pick up the award on behalf of the company. Held and organized by Mirror Post, a renowned monthly magazine based in Hong Kong, the Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award aims to promote the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility, and to give credit to the organizations that are truly committed to its values, contributing to the sustainable development of healthy and harmonious societies across the Greater China region. Other recipients of the award include AIA Hong Kong, Lee Kum Kee and China Construction Bank (Asia) Corporation Limited.

Meanwhile, German Pool has also enrolled in the Happy Organization Label Scheme 2013, jointly launched by the Promoting Happiness Index Foundation and the Hong Kong Productivity Council, pledging to create a happy working environment for its staff and to raise their happiness-at-work level.
