FIR Health Care Series - First Brand Granted Certification by HKFIRA
German Pool Far Infrared (FIR) Health Care Series has successfully passed the certification standard of Hong Kong Far Infrared Rays Association (HKFIRA) and become the first certified far infrared products in Hong Kong since the launch of HKFIRA’s certification standard services in October 2010.
With reference to the HKFIRA certification standard, certified FIR products should fulfill all the requirements below:
- Safety - radiation of not more than 1 Bq/g
- Effectiveness - average FIR emission of not less than 77%
German Pool Far Infrared Health Care Series, employing the exclusive BIO-ACT Technology in its FIR materials, can emit highly effective FIR rays suitable for human absorption (4-14μm) as tested by Hong Kong Far Infrared Rays Association at certified FIR Testing Laboratory in Japan. According to the test results, the infrared spectral emissivity rate is up to 93.2%*. And as certified by radiological test report, BIO-ACT FIR material gives out radiation less than 0.1 Bq/g**.

With limited local technology and product reliability supports, FIR products’ functionalities and reliability have not been communicated to the consumers correctly and effectively. Recently, confusing or misleading information has been conveyed by some media to the general public regarding the functions and effectiveness of the FIR technology. This will no doubt undermine consumers’ confidence in the FIR technology and related products. Setting up the FIR standard and certification by an accredited organization will certainly help build up consumers’ confidence in the capability and reliability of the technology.
