The raised section on the lid is a steam vent designed to release heat and steam; it is not a handle for lifting the lid. Do not touch the steam vent during or right after cooking to prevent severe burns. When removing the lid, always use both hands to lift it by the side handles. Keep it level to prevent hot water or food from spilling and causing injury.
