Grand Opening:Kowloon MegaBox Store
For more than 30 years, German Pool is committed to bringing Hong Kong consumers a diverse repertoire of products including cutting-edge water heaters, lifestyle electrical appliances, seasonal appliances, healthcare products, household goods, and built-in appliances. In recent years, German Pool expands into the premium custom cabinetry market to provide every imaginable type of tailor-made cabinets or storage systems, including kitchen cupboards, wardrobes, TV stands, bathroom storage, bookcases or bedroom furniture.
German Pool understands aspirations of Hong Kong home owners, and on April 24, 2015, German Pool officiated the grand opening of the company’s first Lifestyle Concept Store at Kowloon Bay’s MegaBox shopping mall. The 7,000 sq ft store comprises of 12 zones, each dedicated to showcase a specific type German Pool product (see Appendix 1). Not only does the Lifestyle Concept Store offer a one-stop home design service, the store also features a Culinary Experience Centre. In excess of 1,000 sq ft, professional cooking classes and, cooking demonstrations will be held regularly to entice culinary connoisseurs. The space can also be used for corporate training, wine tastings, and even private dinners or parties. The opening of the Lifestyle Concept Store defines a new era for home goods shopping.
After the grand opening ceremony, where distinguished guests from the government, public offices, and the industries took part in the ribbon cutting ceremony, German Pool organised a product demo session for the media in presence. German Pool’s professional chef was on hand to provide cooking demo using the brand new Korean Barbecue Grill KQB-114 and KQB215. The demo dishes included Korean style pork ribs with cheese, grilled Wagu beef, grilled fish with salt and pepper and S’more. Staff dressed in traditional Korean costumes were also on site to serve the guests.
On the day of the grand opening, the Culinary Experience Centre held a tasting event where guests were served dishes made using the German Pool “K-Food Trio” lifestyle appliances. The K-Food Trio includes the halogen cooking pot (the portable oven), the multifunctional rice cooker, and the auto-power switch health cooker. The menu - which proved very popular with the guests consisted of Korean pork ribs, Korean deep fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce, Korean ginseng chicken porridge, Japanese grilled eel with rice, grilled fish with salt and pepper, grilled shishamo, noodles with abalone sauce, and homemade bread. After the grand opening, the culinary experience centre will invite Michelin chefs to host regular cooking classes, demonstrations, corporate training sessions, wine tasting events and also private parties. The “Happy Kids’ Kitchen” cooking classes for both parents and child will also be held regularly on weekends for families to bond and learn!
