Operated by the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, the third Design Gallery officially opened on July 21 at the PMQ. HKTDC Design Gallery specifically promotes products created and designed in Hong Kong. The wide variety of products in store also highlights the extraordinary creativity of Hong Kong designers in areas ranging from accessories, watches and household decorations to premium goods and stationery. At 1,200sqft, the Hong Kong ‧ Design Gallery has an area of about 1,200 square feet. The shop is decorated in different color schemes and materials to create a unique atmosphere. On the opening day, Mr Fred Lam, the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council; Mr Victor Lo, Chairman of Board of Directors, the Hong Kong Design Centre, together with the representatives of the creative industry and celebrities hosted the ribbon-cutting ceremony. German Pool’s founder and executive director Dr. Edward Chan Kwok-man was also invited to attend the simple ribbon cutting. The group went on a tour of the Hong Kong ● Design Gallery and joined a cocktail reception to share and exchange their experiences and ideas about the creative industry.
