The Food Processor has an interlocking safety design (please see photo). When bowl lid, blades, and main unit are properly installed and locked in place, safety mechanism is activated and motor can be started. There are 3 tips to observe:
1. Arrow on main unit should match the arrow on bowl lid
2. Star-shaped safety lock on top of chopping unit should be securely inserted into the corresponding indentation at the bottom of the main unit
3. Two cylindrical safety locks on top of bowl lid should be securely inserted into matching holes at the bottom of the main unit
