The new energy efficiency grading standards for storage type electric water heaters has taken effect from 30 June 2024, and will be fully implemented on 30 September 2025. New grading standards will be stricter than old standards. Between 30 June 2024 and 30 September 2025 is a transitional period where new and old energy efficiency labels will both be seen on the market. Only from 30 September 2025 onwards will new labels be used solely. That said, German Pool storage water heaters (V Series) have already been rated Grade 1 under the 2025 grading standards. Consumers can purchase them without worries.
