German Pool Receives Award at Nanao Dragon Boat Championship

On 27th May 2017, the 17th Dapeng New District Nanao Invitational Dragon Boat Championship and the 1st “Travel & Food” Festival was held in Moon Bay, Nanao. Teams formed by organizations and communities from Guangzhou, Macau, Hong Kong, Dongguan, Foshan and Nanao came together and took part in a 500m race on the sea of Nanao. Among the 18 dragon boat teams, the German Pool team stood out and won the 7th place.

Part of the Nanao’s unique culture, the Nanao Dragon Boat Championship has a history of 70 years. After having the eyes of the dragon dotted as a traditional ceremony, the dragon boat race began with the sound of the gun and waves of drum beats.

The 18 teams were divided into 3 groups, engaging in 2 rounds of racing sessions. The German Pool sponsored dragon boat team ploughed through the dashing waves, refusing to give in.

As visitors on the coast cheered and yelled, the competition was turning white-hot. After going through fierce competition, the German Pool sponsored team won the 5th runner up.
