The “Hong Kong Outstanding Netrepreneurs Competition 2016” final was held on 15th April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. After going through fierce competition, with our remarkable presentation and outstanding performance in O2O cross-border e-commerce within a short period of time, German Pool was selected as one of Hong Kong’s Top Ten Outstanding Netrepreneurs and successfully won 1st runner-up of the competition.

Held by Alibaba (Hong Kong) Limited, the competition aims at encouraging and facilitating the use of e-commerce by small and medium enterprises to strengthen their competitiveness, hence leading to the upgrade and transformation of industrial structure. During the final, Vice-President (Marketing and Business Development) of German Pool (Hong Kong) Limited, Executive Director of German Pool Group Company Limited and Founder of German Pool O2O Limited Ms Karen Chan delivered a lively presentation in front of the judges and audience. With personal experiences as example, Ms Chan explains how German Pool discovers opportunities, welcomes challenges and thus starts developing O2O cross-border e-commerce so as to meet the needs of the times.

O2O and Cross-Border E-Commerce

Approaching its 4th decade of development, German Pool has rapidly grasped the opportunity in O2O cross-border e-commerce, thus established a new company: German Pool O2O Limited. Led by a dedicated team, German Pool O2O Limited is responsible for the operation of e-commerce, cross-border trading, online and offline experience stores as well as digital marketing. Our new company has become a pioneer of O2O cross-border e-commerce in Hong Kong.

Today, German Pool products can be found in multiple influential e-commerce channels, including TMall, TMall International, JD.com, JD Worldwide, yhd.com, Suning, HKTV Mall and Groupon. Our propriety platforms involve the German Pool E-Storeand Sparkle VIP Club. On top of that, our O2O platform is going to establish its presence in China South City, Chow Tai Fook Hoko and CLP Power Hong Kong Limited.

In the coming 3-5 years, German Pool is going to reinforce the interoperability between its offline and online business, hence implementing the O2O development model. Through having the Shunde flagship store as our first O2O experience store, German Pool has started to build its nationwide experience chain stores, with the goal of establishing at least 200 O2O experience stores in China. On the other hand, German Pool has already signed a cooperation agreement regarding the establishment of O2O experience stores in the Nansha Free-Trade Zone. Meanwhile, in August, 2016, the second O2O experience store is also going to be opened in Yintai Centre, Chengdu. Again, the O2O business model is going to be put into practice in order to fully develop the e-commerce platform and the experience store itself. Apart from consolidating the Online to Offline (O2O) sales channel, marketing strategies such as digital marketing and social media will be applied. Finally, German Pool’s overseas market is going to be developed in the form of e-commerce and O2O experience. With countries such as the United Kingdom, United States and Canada as its targets, German Pool aims at becoming an international enterprise that integrates creativity, design and development, production, sales and import and export trade.
